About Us

The Ohana Sports Complex is a 20,000 square foot sports facility that holds 4 volleyball/basketball courts located in a newly-constructed structure in Grimes, Iowa (a suburb of Des Moines).

This tournament-ready facility has a full-service concession stand and seating for up to 100 spectators per court.  The court is made of high-performance, high-gloss Sports Court with a 5 MM rubber shock absorption underlayment and is similar to the flooring used at the NCAA Women’s Division I Championship Tournament.

Joe Ledesma, Jr. is the owner of the Ohana Sports Complex.  Joe is also the Co-Director of the Ohana Volleyball Club.  He and his wife, Deb, run all aspects of the facility.

The Ohana Volleyball Club has methodically grown to become a successful, volleyball-training organization with 14 girls’ and boys’ teams.   This growth as well as the expansion of their summer clinics and their fall camps necessitated the need for a new home.  The Ohana Sports Complex was created to provide this home after a nearly two year search for the right location.  The Gateway Industrial Park II area located in Grimes, IA was secured by the Ohana Sports Complex in the summer of 2014 and will compliment a growing family-centered business park which is home to the Sky Zone, MB2 Raceway, and the Sports University training center.  With doors opening in January, 2015, the Ohana Sports Complex will not only provide a new home for the Ohana Volleyball Club, but will also offer many options for other sports teams, sports enthusiasts, and other organizations who are in need of indoor facility space.

Our Mission
